Carolina Escobar, MD

Co-Founder and Vice President

Carolina Escobar, MD, a Co-Founder of VIMA, serves as Vice President and Director of stem cell research. Dr. Escobar is an oncologist, hematologist and stem cell transplant specialist at Texas Oncology in Dallas, Texas, and is also affiliated with Baylor University Medical Center and Medical City Dallas Hospital.

Dr. Escobar stays at the cutting edge of her field as a member of the American Board of Internal Medicine, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology, the American College of Physicians/American Society of Internal Medicine, the American Medical Association and the American Society of Bone Marrow Transplant. Her innovative research work has led to her authoring and co-authoring numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals.

Dr. Escobar received her education from Pontifical Bolivarian University in Medellin, Colombia, before continuing her studies with an internship, residency, and fellowship at LSU Health Sciences Center Shreveport, followed by a fellowship in stem cell transplant at Baylor University Medical Center.
